Death Valley is one the most interesting places in the U.S. with not only some of the hottest temperatures each year but also holds the lowest point in the country - Badwater Basin (282 feet below sea level).
This image was taken on an impromptu solo weekend to Death Valley by Antoine, who made his way deep into the 200-square-mile salt flats as the sun was setting. He wasn't the only photographer there, but he was the only one who stayed after dark.
It was surreal for him to look UP from the LOWEST point in America! He found the North Star (Polaris) and got an interesting image of the grainy and salty flats with the smooth rotation of star trails behind.
This photo is a good representation of how Earth rotates over time because the stars don't move (well, from our point of view), but we do!
